Special Felines, a no-kill shelter was founded by Nancy Kneessi in the spring of 1992 for the purpose of providing a temporary home for unwanted cats and kittens. Since 1992, over 2,000 felines abandoned by society have been placed in suitable, loving homes. Many Special Feline residents come from various Maryland shelters, while others are pets given up by owners desperately searching for a place where their cat can find a new home without the fear of being put to death. Special Felines are healthy, desirable pets in search of that one special someone to provide them with a permanent, loving home. The many hours caring for the felines are rewarded when they are successfully placed with their new family.
The felines at our cattery are well-socialized indoor pets. They are housed in our cattery (cat house) or in foster homes. Special Felines for adoption can be seen on Petfinder or you can visit the cattery in St. Michaels, Md. It is necessary to make an appointment to adopt a feline or visit the cattery. A limited number of felines are housed at a time so as to provide the best possible care. If you have any questions please call Nancy at 410-745-3297 or e-mail email@example.com. Cats always available, even though we may not have them all listed here.
