Second Hope Rescue, Inc. is a group of animal loving friends that joined together in 2006 to fill a niche in the Tri-County area of Southern Maryland that is committed to giving “Second Hope” to hard to place animals (due to breed or age) that are searching for their forever homes.. We are an all volunteer, non profit 501 (c)(3) charity organization with foster homes located in St. Mary’s, Calvert and Charles counties. All of our animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, identification microchipped, dewormed and heartworm or FIV/FELV tested prior to adoption. Second Hope Rescue is Southern Maryland’s largest privately funded animal rescue. Second Hope Rescue operates entirely on donations from the public and grants and receives no tax money. Second Hope Rescue cares for an average of 60 dogs and 20 cats at any given time.

We do not have a physical location to come visit all the animals in our care. Our animals are fostered in our homes, in the Tri-County area. To meet any of our animals please contact us and we will do our best to arrange a convenient meet and greet.
