The National Aviary is America’s only independent indoor nonprofit bird zoo. The natural, planted exhibits are home to over 600 birds of more than 200 varieties, including many threatened or endangered species. The birds represent nearly every continent, with an emphasis on rainforest and wetland habitats.
Specialties: Daily events include Penguin Encounter, Raptor Encounter and feeding times. Other events include Breakfast with the Birds, the annual summer free-flight bird show and educational programs.
