Black Dogs and Company is a 501c3 organization! We saved over 71 dogs in 2014 alone. Our program relies on foster families, rather than one large facility like larger scale rescues.
Our mission at Black Dogs & Company Rescue is to raise awareness of the Black Dog Syndrome, to provide a safe haven for dogs of every color, and to work with area shelters to promote the spay and neutering of our faithful, loving companions.We also rescue the Old English Sheepdog breed because they are high maintenance and sometimes hard to train.We also help families keep their beloved pets. We would rather a dog stay in its much loved home than have to rehome through rescue. No one will love you like a dog who was once abandoned. As a foster you welcome needy dogs into your home and heart, showering your foster dog with love, care, and basic training while they wait for their forever home. Because you know the personality of your foster dog(s) you are well suited to help find the perfect match for their forever family.
Many people say that they would like to foster but don’t think they could part with the dog! While it is true that many foster parents have adopted their foster dog(s), they have also shed tears of joy when their beloved foster(s) leave with their forever family, knowing that they now have room to rescue another dog in need!
