The Animal Welfare Society has been serving the Howard County, Maryland community since 1944.
We are a private rescue organization for companion animals in need.
This non-profit facility receives no government funding. Your donations to our shelter will assist us in continuing to provide these services to the community. We hope that you will patronize our services and refer us to other pet owners. In this way, we can continue our mission of helping animals in need and then find their forever families!Come Visit Us! Monday through Fridays we are open by appointment only for animal intake and adoptions 9 am – 5 pm. On Saturdays, we host our pet adoption day from 10 am – 4 pm. Sunday: Closed to the public.
