Lost & Found Pets

The College Park Animal Control Service is a municipal agency created to serve the residents and the animals of College Park, MD. We respond to calls regarding domestic animals, exotic animals, and wildlife. When possible, we transport cats and dogs found within the city to our local shelter. Our adoption program is focused on animals found at large, stray, and lost within the city limits. This program is funded partially by city funds, but relies heavily on the donations to the Animal Welfare Committee, which was created to support the Animal Control Program. We are 501(c)3 Non Profit/No Kill Animal Shelter serving all of Worcester County, MD. (Ocean City, Berlin, Ocean Pines) that relies primarily on donations from the public. Our mission is to provide food, vet care, and unconditional love until we find suitable, loving and forever homes for our animals. All of our pets are current on vaccines, micro-chipped and spayed/neutered when old enough. We provide much needed vet care, which is our biggest expense. BARCS is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization operating Maryland’s largest open-admission animal shelter and pet adoption center, nestled in downtown Baltimore’s Federal Hill neighborhood. Our shelter grants refuge to every abandoned, neglected, abused, lost or surrendered animal that comes through our door – a staggering 30-35 or more animals are surrendered to BARCS daily, every single day of the year. The Caroline County Humane Society is a non profit 501(c)3 organization with an “Open Door, Open Heart” Open admission shelter that never turns away any animal at our door from Caroline County. We also operate Caroline County Animal Control which responds to calls and complaints 24 hours a day 365 days a year. We offer a low cost/free spay and neuter program for the pets belonging to low income and elderly residents of our county, and offer educational programs and resources for pet owners. We are developing a program especially designed to reach the children in our community. Our shelter has 20 large indoor/outdoor runs, a puppy room and cat and kitten room. Every animal has their own bed, blanket and toys. Daily walks for the dogs (sometimes more), and play time for the cats keep the animals stimulated, happy and socialized. We also have many wonderful pets in foster homes. We are located on the eastern shore of Maryland, approximately 30 minutes east of the Bay Bridge. We are approximately 45 minutes to Annapolis and Dover, DE; one hour and 15 minutes to Baltimore, Washington, DC and Wilmington, DE; two hours to Philadelphia.
