The Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center (MCASAC), operated by the Department of Police, Animal Services Division, provides high-standard sheltering and care to the homeless, abused, and neglected animals in our community and ensures the safety and welfare of the county’s citizens. We are the the county’s only open-admissions, municipal shelter. The Center’s doors are open to all animals in need from dogs and cats to farm animals, wildlife, and exotics. Trained staff provide animals with daily care, mental and physical enrichment, health and wellness checks, and more. Through adoptions, spay and neuter assistance, vaccination clinics, education and outreach, the Center serves as a critical community resource to promote and advocate for responsible pet care. With community support and partnerships with other animal-welfare groups, our Foster, Rescue and Volunteer programs enhance and save the lives of even more homeless animals. Animal Services Officers are on-call seven days a week to investigate citizen complaints and respond to animal emergencies 24 hours a day. Really Great Cats, Inc is a Volunteer Organization Located on the Eastern Shore of MD. Our Mission to reduce the number of feral and uncared for cats by spaying and neutering these animals. We improve the health of these cats and make them safer for human contact by vaccinating them for rabies. All colonies we work with are regularly fed and monitored. Friends For Life is a non-profit, no-kill rescue dedicated to helping homeless pets. It is our wish that every animal that comes into our care will live out its life in peace and dignity. We take great care to find responsible, loving, permanent homes for every animal. We believe that owning a pet is a privilege and the rewards and unconditional love given to us by our pets is everlasting. Friends For Life cats are cared for in foster homes until their adoption. Some are with us for weeks, others for years. It is our goal to place cats as quickly as possible into a loving family. Unfortunately, because some animals are scared, stressed, older, or may not do well at open houses or in cages, they may live the rest of their lives in foster care or in a shelter environment. Pitties and Purrs is a small Pit Bull and Cat Rescue in Baltimore, Maryland. Our dogs are pulled from high kill shelters all over the United States. We love each and every rescued Pittie like our own. They live in foster homes and become part of those families. When they are adopted, we expect them to become a part of your family. We have worked very hard making them true ambassadors of the breed and expect you to do the same. Pit Bulls are very loving animals that require an enormous amount of love, time and energy. They are very hard to re-home when they reach adulthood. They are a lifelong commitment, so we ask that you think about adoption carefully before making a decision. TOMCAT SOLUTIONS is a group of experienced TNR volunteers who have made a commitment to curb cat overpopulation by providing continued TNR and Barncat services on the upper-shore. We are a non-profit corporation affiliated with the Foundation for Community Partnerships in Centreville, MD, which provides us with a 501(c)(3) status, allowing us to accept tax-deductible donations. Feral Cat Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to humanely reducing the feral and stray cat population in St. Mary’s County through a variety of methods without euthanasia.  With our Trap-Neuter-Return program, feral cats are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated and sterilized by veterinarians. Healthy adults cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers or those people already feeding them. Under our adoption program, the kittens and tame young adult cats that are adoptable are temporarily placed with foster families until they can be permanently adopted into good homes. Cats R Us is a Non Profit 501(c)3 cat and kitten rescue organization in the Annapolis, Maryland area whose focus is educating communities about non-lethal and humane care of community cats; controlling the community cat population through TNR (Trap, Neuter, and Return); and the promotion of low-cost community spay/neuter clinics and initiatives. TNR means community cats are humanely trapped, vaccinated, sterilized, and ear-tipped (for identification) by veterinarians. Kittens caught early enough are tamed, vetted, and available for adoption when they are of an appropriate age. We have a small team dedicated to this segment of rescue, along with socializing and care of abandoned adults both of which have grown to be an integral part of our overall efforts. As a feline rescue group, it is all too common to find abandoned, domesticated cats. These cats enter our program, are vetted, and put up for adoption as soon as possible. Friends of Felines, Inc. is an all volunteer, non profit 501(c)3 cat rescue organization located in Calvert County Maryland. We are committed to reducing the feral/stray cat population in Calvert County through non-lethal means. We instruct volunteers on how to trap, neuter, return and manage feral colonies.
